The Inspiring Renovation of a Palm Beach Gem
Despite its jumbled layout and dated finishes, the home’s expansive grounds and promising footprint caught the eye of interior designer Ellen Kavanaugh. With a vision for a bright, coastal-inspired retreat, Kavanaugh and her team embarked on a transformative journey to breathe new life into the Palm Beach, Florida property.
By reconfiguring the layout and raising ceilings, the team created a more open and airy atmosphere throughout the home.
Inside, crisp white walls and pale oak floors provided a neutral backdrop for daring design choices, such as the sky blue ceiling in this great room. Reflecting the nearby pool, the ceiling’s Venetian plaster finish adds a luminous quality to the space. Kavanaugh’s skillful use of color and texture, including oceanic blues and leafy greens, further enhances the tropical ambiance, while curated furnishings and natural accents maintain a sense of spaciousness and sophistication.
