Ashley Sharpe’s design for a Palm Beach estate blends period details with elegant livability. The 5,300-square-foot home on the oceanfront lot was built after the homeowners outgrew their ranch-style house. The interiors reflect the homeowners’ vibrant personalities and the island’s quintessential coquettish glamour. Sharpe, a principal of Sharpe Development and Design, is well-versed in the history and early architecture of Palm Beach, understanding the island’s classic style, Moorish influence, and cocktail party culture. The design incorporates natural elements, such as grass cloth wall coverings, hand-painted flora, and a dominant aquamarine color palette with coral pops. A custom sleeper sofa does double duty to make this pool house a guest house. The bright, playful design narrative threads through the entire house, making the homeowners and their home stand out.
