Waterfront Living Room by Amy Andrews Featured in Ocean Home Magazine
Views of Long Island Sound informed the blue shades used in the interior decor of this home.
A couple from New York City moved to Larchmont, New York, to rent a house for their two sons. They were drawn to the expansive views of Long Island Sound and hired Charles Hilton Architects to restore, renovate, and reshape the house to suit their lifestyle. The house, in a historic district, needed work, including replacing the Spanish-tile roof, exterior stucco façade, windows, doors, millwork, trim, and outdated mechanicals, electrical system, and kitchen and baths. The unstable sunroom was demolished and reconstructed, and the original first-floor bay windows and two second-floor bay windows were replaced with larger ones. Charles Hilton Architects enhanced the house’s century-old architecture, replacing stucco façade and wood trim with more durable PVC. Amy Andrews recrafted the interior design. The kitchen, pantry, and mudroom were reconfigured, and the dining room was converted into a family room.
